‘Home’ is an ongoing commission with Reading Refugee Support Group that involves delivering photography workshops to local participants, both children and adults, using photography as a tool to explore the concept of home.

In the context of digital and online imagery today, we chose to use film in order to ground these images within the analogue tradition. The participants were more of aware of the process of the photographer, choosing a particular object or moment to capture without the desire to delete or alter the image in any way.

Questions of identity and nationality are raised within the work, as well as the role of the documentary photographer and methods of representation today. The project aims to creatively engage with these themes whilst bringing people together both refugee and local families, promoting a sense of community and collaboration.
